Delta 2022: Ogun Govt. Presents Instant Cash Rewards To Medalists

Ogun State Government has presented instant financial rewards to the state’s athletes who have so far won medals at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Delta State.


Presenting the cash awards to the medalists at the camp of Team Ogun, Model secondary school,Asaba, Ogun State commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Dare Kehinde, said the gesture was to encourage other athletes to win more medals.



Gold , Silver and Bronze Medalists were presented instant cash rewards acrossboard.



"As you all know that the State Governor through the Commissioner for Youths and Sports promised instant cash rewards to athlete that wins gold, silver and bronze medal right here in Delta, we are here again tonight to fulfill the promise. His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun is a sports loving Governor and always ready to motivate those that have won and yet to compete. This will also serve as a wake up call to others starting from tomorrow that their achievements, purpose for representing the state and sweats won't be in vain."


"Team Ogun has just started, we expect more gold medals as from tomorrow across centers.

As at 5pm December 5th. 2022, the collation on the medal table of the 21st National Sports Festival, team Ogun still maintained  second place in the medal table, behind the the host state, Team Delta and ahead of Oyo, after winning three gold medals and 6 silver medals on Sunday.


Latifat Tijani concluded a triumphant weekend for the team by becoming the first female Para Powerlifting to win two gold medals in 45kg singles golds her best lifting and best total best lifting.



The defending champions, Delta State still remain 1st on the medal table, right from the commencement of the tournament.


The coast is actually getting clearer day by day as Bayelsa, Edo and Imo are jostling to push harder at the ongoing National Sports Festival.
