The ruling All Progressive Party(APC) in Lagos State under the tutelage of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led Administration has been commended for prompt promotion as and when due which has been the secret of total commitment and dedication by the entire workforce in Lagos State.
As against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu electioneering promises to ensure welfare of the workforce in particular and Lagosians in general, the details news in chats finds out that
In 2020, 962 wrote exam 961 promoted(99%),In 2021, 519 wrote exam, 519 promoted (100%) revealing that 2020 and 2021 were just structural training and appraisal only adding that the strigent policy of making 'CBT' a yardstick for promotion not minding the aggregate scores is authoritarian, draconian, obnoxious and undemocratic.
Lagos State Government is reminded of Reducing Inequality within and among people which is the Sustainable Development Goal 10(SDG), in which the present decision at Lagos Revenue Inland Service in Lagos State negates.
The staff of Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) and some notable Lagosians are appealing to the authority concerned, especially Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, APC, Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The Head of Service, Hakeem Muri Okunola to weigh into the situation and consider 55% and 60% aggregate score as against a 50% score in each of the newly introduced 3-component policy . to check supremacy of 'CBT' component which in no doubt will set bad precedent not just in LIRS and Lagos State Government alone but Nigeria in general.
"Failing one component should not be the basis for the advancement. The main mission of the Agency, is to generate adequate revenue for the state. Meanwhile a large number of officers scored above the aggregate margin and despite all not still 'Promoted", anonymity revealed.
They further explained that, before now, LIRS had always adopted the use of the total aggregate score to arrive at cut-off marks, but the use of minimum score in each component has adversely affected majority of staff who successfully scored 55% and 60% and above, but, not making up to 50% in one or two components.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration has been the most listening administration in Lagos State believing that prompt intervention will be made to allay demoralising - staff - oriented decision which in no doubt will adversely affect revenue generation in Lagos State.
The staff then appeal once again to the authority concerned to make a reversal to the old method of total aggregate scores as against the use of minimum score in each of the 3 components as stated hereunder by LIRS Management:

- Structural Training @ 25%
- Appraisal @ 35%
Senior Cadre

promising to remain loyal, committed and dedicated service.
