The Executive Secretary, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda has said  the Hajj Savings Scheme is a veritable platform to ease Savings for prospective pilgrims who are willing to embark on holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medinah.

Salau, who  made the call  at the Board's Secretariat Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, during a meeting with the stakeholders in the hajj operation in preparation for 2023 hajj exercise, said the Scheme is an opportunity for Muslim faithful to pay without stress in achieving future pilgrimage. 

The Executive Secretary regarded the  stakeholders as partners in progress in sustaining the tempo of excellent performance of the State in previous hajj exercise, calling  for their continuous synergy in the promotion of the  Scheme and projection of the Board’s image in good light.

He commended their efforts for the success recorded  in the last Hajj exercise despite the short notice given by the Saudi Arabia authority, saying "I want to sincerely appreciate you for being a supportive hand  to the Board, without your efforts and that of the Board,  we wouldn't have achieved a seamless and hitch-free exercise, we are recognised and given an award of Excellence, as well as letter  of commendation".

He said the Board was in tune with the Federal Government's Cashless Policy, urging the stakeholders to encourage  intending pilgrims to purchase Bank drafts for their safety as the government would not rest on its oars in putting all necessary measures in place to make the next year Hajj a huge success.

Responding on behalf of the stakeholders, Alhaji Nurudeen Matanmi, appreciated the Board for provision of adequate welfare for pilgrims during hajj operations, promising their continued support.
