Environmental sanitation exercise will hold tomorrow, Saturday, November 26, 2022, between 7.00am and 10.00am, with no restriction of movement across the 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State.
A release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Engr. Razak Ojetola, urged residents to use the time to clear their drainage channels, clean their premises and dispose of waste accordingly at designated points for the government-accredited waste collectors to pick up.
According to the release, all waste collection and equipment of the Ogun State Waste Management (OGWAMA) would be on duty to complement the effort of Private Sector Participants (PSP) in various communities to collect waste generated during the exercise.
It stated that anyone found dumping waste inappropriately, would be prosecuted in accordance with the State Environmental laws, calling for the residents continuous support in maintaining cleanliness and a safe environment.
All Local Government Council officials and advocacy groups on environmental sanitation are to take charge in their locality to ensure the smooth exercise, the release further stated.
