Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has given assurance to complete the digital infrastructure project embarked upon by his administration, to enable people access internet connectivity.
Governor Abiodun stated this while presenting the 2023 Appropriation Bill titled: "Budget of Continued Development and Prosperity" at the State House of Assembly, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Governor said the digital infrastructure project was aimed at improving Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy, in the nooks and crannies of the State for effective governance.
Prince Abiodun recalled that his administration started digital transformation of government procedures by providing free wifi connectivity in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government for efficiency in the State workforce, broaden revenue scope, as well as block revenue leakages through og.etax, thereby boosting Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
He pointed out his achievements in the area of youth empowerment through the establishment of Oguntech Hub, which had provided infrastructure support for local innovators and incubation opportunities for tech-based start-ups, saying more digital revolutions would be achieved in the fiscal year.
