Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the construction of Igbeba, Ilese, Awokoya street, Balogun Kuku and Ijebu-Ode Club roads in Ijebu-Ode.
Prince Abiodun revealed this at the commissioning of Molipa-Fasugboye, Asafa-Oke, Asafa-Isale roads in Ijebu-Ode, maintaining that the road would further expand the economic activities of the area.
The Governor said the newly commissioned 3.2km road had been in a deplorable state and worsened by erosion, adding that his administration had carried out an erosion control and changed the face of the areas for the benefit of the people.
According to him,’’Ogun is no longer a Civil Service State, but an industrial hub of the country. Though the roads were the first to be commissioned in Ijebu-Ode by my administration, six more roads are under construction in the town. We will not rest until all bad roads are put in good shape”.
He lauded the people for being law abiding, saying development could not take place in an atmosphere of chaos, hence the need for the residents to continue to maintain peace at all times.
In his welcome address, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya said Molipa-Fasugboye, Asafa-Oke, Asafa-Isale roads were among the road network constructed in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area in the last three and a half years.
In his remark, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, represented by the Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Yinusa Adekoya, appreciated the Governor for completion of the roads and described him as a performer who had taken development to every parts of the State, saying his administration had touched all sectors including agriculture, health, education and infrastructure.
