The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government of Ogun State, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi has charged traditional rulers in the Council to maintain peace and order in their respective domains and remain unrelented in the ongoing socioeconomic development in the state
Hon. Ogunyomi who made this known at a meeting with members of the Yewa North Local Government Traditional Council of Obas held at the Local Government Secretariat, Ayetoro, said, the monarchs are grassroots administrators and should partner with the security stakeholders in their localities to protect lives and property of their subjects in the best interest of the State.
The Chairman emphasized that Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration was committed to improved welfare of monarchs in the State, assuring that, Government would see to development of all sectors across board.
"I want to assure you that this present government has a lot of respect for the traditional institution and on our agenda, is to improve your welfare and other emoluments and see that no sector is left undeveloped", Ogunyomi said.
Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the Alaye of Ayetoro, Oba AbdulAzees Adelakun represented by the Otunba of Ayetoro, Engr. Kunle Fashola and Olu of Imasai, Oba Lukumon Kuoye said that residents of the Gateway State would forever be grateful to Governor Dapo Abiodun's infrastructural strides in the State, good roads and better standard of living.
They acknowledged the State Government's plan to development of rural area with promised to provide a grader coupled with a roller to each of the 20 Local Governnent Areas, describing it as a welcome development.
Also lending their voices, the Onijoun of Ijoun, Oba Gabriel Ogunji and his counterpart from Oja Odan, Oloja of Oja Odan, Oba Adetunji Oyebanji appreciated the State Government's all-round evelopmental strides, appealing that, health centres and drinkable water should also be extended to densely populated communities in rural areas.
