OGUN CCA PRESIDENT EMPHASISES MOTIVATION FOR WORKERS

 




The President, Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal (CCA), Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo said recognition of hard work and diligence would pave way for excellence, to attain higher standards of operations within the judiciary system.


Justice Ojo made this assertion at the 2022 conferment of merit awards to some outstanding staffers of the Customary court, Isabo, Abeokuta, noting that good behavior should be rewarded while indiscipline and untoward attitudes should attract  punishment.


He said a Monitoring and Quality Assurance Unit had been established in the Office of the Chief Registrar 1, and  headed by the Deputy Chief Registrar, to make recommendations for awards to some categories, to further ensure quality and effective service delivery in  law courts.


Justice Ojo reiterated the commitment of the State Judiciary as contained in its seven-point agenda; to digitalise Judiciary, prompt disposal of cases, decongestion of correctional service centre across the State, holistic welfare-based administration, zero tolerance for corruption, provision of enabling, conducive workplace and environment for Judges and staff of the Judiciary and transparent administration with an open door policy.

He congratulated the awardees for their dedication, tolerance and patience in the discharge of their duties, enjoining them not to rest on their oars and implored other staff to be committed, so as to become a role model in their places of work.


Earlier in her address, the Chairman Merit Award Committee, Hon. Justice Adebisi Femi-Segun, said the ceremony was the second edition in the history of Customary Court of Appeal, noting that it was imperative to appreciate and celebrate officers with outstanding performances.


According to Femi-Segun, ‘’it is worthy of celebrating the outstanding officers for their excellent performances in the course of discharging their duties in terms of volume of work. Infact, there is no single petition against them throughout the year".


She noted that 17 deserving officers were honoured from different sections of the Customary Court of Appeal, urging them to sustain the tempo and good work.


 Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Accounting Officer and the Registrar of the year, Mr. Kazeem Folarin and Mrs. Adenike Adebanjo respectively, commended the initiative of the Court for recognising their efforts, saying the awards would spur them to do more.
