Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to further boost the industrial development and revenue base of the State through its partnership with private sector, to pave way for more investors to thrive.
The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN) stated this in Abeokuta, at a training programme for Law Officers, organised by the Ogun State Office of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in collaboration with International Senior Lawyers Project, titled:”Public-Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development”.
Mr. Ogungbade said that part of the present administration's initiative was to elevate the industrial sector which prompted the establishment of the Public-Private Partnership Office, Business Environment Council, as well as Investment and Promotion Facilitation Agency.
The Attorney-General noted that genuine partnership with government would serve as a viable catalyst for economic growth and development, emphasising the importance of investing in infrastructure as demonstrated in ISEYA mantra of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration.
In her lecture, the Senior Legal Programme Officer, International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP), Miss Eniye Ogbebor said the purpose of collaboration with the State government was to provide pro-bono services for economic development, adding that they had gained a lot of potential since its partnership with the government.
Miss Ogbebor stated that they had been able to develop many programmes on the effective use of PPP, through the Office and the Office of the Attorney-General in the State.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Miss Toyin Aiyepola described the seminar as educative, saying more had been learnt on Public-Private Partnership deals.
