Ogun East Senatorial Candidate under the platform of Social Democratic Party, Otunba Adewale Adenaike has said he remain the Candidate for Ogun East Senate under the Party.
Otunba Engr Adewale Adenaike made this known in a media chat with Newsmen, when he was approached for clarification regarding his Senatorial ambition for 2023 Election.
Reacting to news making round that he is not the Senatorial Candidate for Ogun East under SDP.
He said in his words "This is not new in politics, you cannot flog someone and ask him not to cry."
"Wale Sokoya has every right to petition the Courts if he felt aggrieved by the outcome of the Primary Elections. He hasn't done anything wrong."
I'm just surprised he first went to a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt to seek relief for an Ogun East matter. In Law, this is called Forum Shopping - seeking a court that will give him an advantage.
Up until the Court ruling, I was Never served with any court papers. I heard through the National Legal Adviser, while I was in England in July that there was a case against the Party, INEC and myself originating from Sokoya.
My legal team have appealed the judgement and we await the date for hearing. I'm unperturbed by this development. The people freely gave me their mandate in the presence of the petitioner. We shook hands before and after the elections like sportsmen but he decided to go to Court afterwards. I have no doubt that the appellate court will do justice.
I'm unable to discuss details as the case is before the appellate court. This is sub judice." Engr. Adenaike Said.
He then appeal to all his teaming supporters to remain law abiding and stay focused on the general elections saying he remain the Candidate of SDP for 2023 Senatorial Election.
