A group known as Dapo Abiodun Progressives Councilorship Aspirants Forum, DAPCAF has lambasted a councilorship aspirant, Hon. Ayo Mayami over a statement that he would work against the re-election bid of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Hon. Ayo Mayami, on Sunday revealed to newsmen that a group called Aggrieved Councilorship Aspirants Forum, is no longer in support of the All Progressives Congress APC in the State.
He also told journalists that the group is now committed to ensure total victory for Ladi Adebutu in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
DAPCAF while reacting the statement mocked Hon. Ayo Mayami, saying that the party is in crisis and is yet to have a Governorship Candidate.
It added said that Hon. Ayo Mayami and the whole PDP can not stop the re-election bid of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The group revealed that Mayami defected to PDP to make money from the embattled Governorship candidate.
The group in a statement signed by the co-ordinator of the Forum, Ebenezer Semilore which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta challenged Ayo Mayami to present the councilorship aspirants that he called members of the group and to mention their respective wards.
It added that Hon. Mayami hired students as members of his Forum to collect money from Hon. Ladi Adebutu.
The group informed that they would work for the victory of Prince Dapo Abiodun in 2023.
The statement reads " It has come to our attention that a councilorship aspirant in the State, Hon. Ayo Mayami who is now a member of PDP said in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta that himself and members under Aggrieved Councilorship Aspirants Forum, ACAF threatened to work against the re-election bid of our amiable Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun. We want to tell the public that there is nothing like Aggrieved Councilorship Aspirants Forum. All councilorship aspirants in the state are in support of the second term bid of our amiable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. The group has been visiting some leaders in the party(APC) to let them know that all councilorship aspirants in the State are not against the second term bid of State Governor. The group concluded
