Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to renovate the Lusada market in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, to make it fit into the government's development plan for the area.
This was a fallout of a meeting with traditional rulers in the area, during which he agreed to immediately look into the concerns raised by them.
Governor Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele said the fact-finding visit was to establish the extent of work required to standardised the market.
According to Abiodun, ”we are here on a fact-finding mission and we have seen for ourselves that the concerns raised are suitably justified. There are a lot of drainage issues going on here, we have also seen that the initial structural arrangement for the market has changed from what had been planned over the years”.
He added that the government would look into how to improve and adjust the market to make it fit for trading to suit the state-of-the-art road, currently under construction in the axis.
While appreciating the people of the community for their support for the present administration, the Governor reassured them of more social amenities to uplift the market.
In a related development, the team also paid a visit to the Ota market, where the Deputy Governor promised to also look into the needs of the market and give it immediate attention.
Accompanying the Deputy Governor on the visit were the Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, and a former Commissioner for Forestry Hon. Tunji Akinosi, Chairman Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Musa, Liason Officer in the council area, Onigboko of Gboko, Oba Olasunkanmi Yusuf, and the Senior Special Assistant, Office of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Kola Salako.
