Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has warned the Gunners that their Premier League tie against Liverpool this weekend will be harder than the Tottenham game.
Merson also singled out Arsenal defender, William Saliba, for praise amid his impressive display for both club and country so far this season.
Recall that Arsenal last weekend defeated their London rival 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side will face the Reds at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
“I always thought the Liverpool game this weekend was going to be harder than the Tottenham [Hotspur] game for Arsenal,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“It becomes even harder now because of the way Liverpool are at the moment, the way Arsenal are playing, the fans turn up with a lot of expectation this weekend to win that game.
“If Arsenal finishes fourth, it would still be amazing after being out of the top four for so long. But Liverpool have been so competitive with the points they have put up, it’s a massive game on Sunday.”
He added, “Fair play to William Saliba, he got brought off at half-time for France against Denmark the other day, but to bounce back and play so well shows you the strength of the young lad – you would think he is old, but he is not.
