The Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) has inducted the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola and eight others as Doctoral Fellows while different qualified Nigerians were inducted as Fellows full members and Associates of the Institute.
Others inducted as Doctoral Fellows include: Mrs. Beatrice Oyediji, Dr. Mariam Kadiri-Ezolome, Dr. Adebola Alayande, Dr. Hannatu Mustapha, Dr. Grace Kolo and Dr. Agbonwanneten Erimwinorose .
Speaking during the induction ceremony held in Lagos and virtually, President, CIHRM, Dr. Olufemi Omoyele said the doctoral fellowship as well as Fellowship were awarded after thorough screening to deserving men and women who are topnotch in HR practice and organizational service delivery. They are also focused individuals with high potentials of impacting the world of human resource management and helping organisations and employees mutually fulfill their goals
Omoyele represented by the Institute's Registrar, Dr. Gbenga Eretan noted that the Chartered Institute is at the fore front of training and certification of professionals who would help accelerate optimal utilisation of human resource especially as the level of human resource management has been nose-diving.
He said people have construed human resource as an administration function that hires and fires only adding that CIHRM is focused on correcting that erroneous notion.
" The event today will serve as an igniting apparatus to the proper and efficient management of human resource in any form of business. Being a member of CIHRM is a rare opportunity which people scout for because of its affiliation and synergy with some internationally recognized educational institutions," Omoyele said.
The President charged the inductees to be ambassadors of the CIHRM in helping to promote human resource management to stimulate improved performance in work places as well as fulfilment of employees.
Delivering a lecture on "Managing Employee Lifecycle: The Value Proposition", the Resource Person who is also the President, Nigerian Institute of Training and Development, Mrs. Ayoade Igbeyi said there is the need for Human Resource Management Consultants to earn the trust of their organisations, develop a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and ensure talents are attracted, developed and retained.
She added that Human Resource consultants need to develop a new mindset for improved performance by empowering employees with relevant skills that would help employees fulfill their potentials.
Reacting, Aikulola said his induction as a Doctoral Fellow is in line with career upgrade which would positively impact his service delivery adding that the certification and training from the Institute are of immense value.
He added that knowledge gained would be well utilised to improve performance at work place and help workers optimally discover and develop themselves.
Born in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Aikulola is a National and multiple award winner. He is a Member of National Productivity Order of Merit (MNPOM).
Aikulola is also a member of various Professional Bodies, some of which include, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM,Chartered).
He is also a Fellow both of the Chatered Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and Corporate Institute of Administration{FCAI ). He is a Certified Management Consultant of CIMC and Certified Management Specialist of London Graduate School.
