YOUNG LEARNERS PRAISE GOVT FOR IMPARTING IT SKILLS

 


             Young learners at the exhibition session marking the completion of a 3-week  free Information Technology (IT) summer holiday classes for children at Oguntech Hub kobape Abeokuta, have applauded Ogun State Government for imparting knowledge on legitimate income generation.


          It would be recalled that Ogun State Bureau of information Technology (BIT) in collaboration with STEAMAcard AFRICA organised the free IT training class for children and teens between ages 8 and 16.


          Some of the beneficiaries including, Taiwo Ogidan, Olaoluwa Salako, Joan Ayeleso, who spoke with  OGIS correspondent said, the free training had allowed them to learn new things that would enable them contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the country in the future.


          Also speaking, Grace Oyebade, Olaitan Enoch, Oyinkansola Alani, affirmed that the environment was conducive for learning with uninterrupted power supply, free internet facility, friendly and experienced tutors, adding that they had been exposed to robotics, web development and animation.


          The participants lauded the initiative of Governor Dapo Abiodun for improving the standard of education, particularly in organising coaching classes during holiday period in the last three years, seeking for continuity of the programme.


In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun who commended the children for their good conduct, advised them to build on what they had learnt.


"I implore you to continually improve on what you have learned and spread the gospel of legitimate money-making skills in Information Technology among your peers and do not hesitate to always visit the Hub for more information.
