Residents of Kemta-Ilugun-Somorin-Obantoko in Abeokuta have applauded the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for reconstructing the 6.9km road which is 80 percent completed, coupled with other infrastructural feats across the State.

A resident of the area, Mr. Johnson Odunewu, while speaking with OGIS correspondents, said the ongoing road construction has brought development to the area in different dimensions and spurred increase in socio-economic activities of adjoining communities.

 “We are very grateful to the administration of Governor Abiodun for this particular road construction which has improved the living standard of the people. Before this road was reconstructed, getting home after the day's work was very difficult but now, if you are at the Idi-Aba end, within 10 to 15 minutes, you will get to your destination", he said.

Also speaking, a journalist, Ernest Nwokolo, who lives along the corridor, said the construction had heaved a sigh of relief to residents of the area, while cost of maintenance of vehicles has reduced.  

A taxi driver, Mr. Mudashiru Alao, said the road would serve as alternative route to motorists plying the area and directly increase their daily income without wasting too much time in traffic, stating that people should reciprocate the good work by supporting Prince Abiodun's government to further move the State forward.
