The Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa has described the Federal Government Technical and Vocational Education Trainning, TVET Maximisation (T-MAX) project, as an initiative that would complement the strides of the present government in empowering the youths.
Prof. Odemuyiwa while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, said the choice of Ogun as one of the seven pilots States for the programme was in recognition and proof of its exploits in TVET, noting that the project would further address the deficit in skilled labour in the country.
He stated that the government would ensure smooth implementation of the proposed training of 2,000 youths across the State under the programme, including Engineering Services, Fashion, Building and Construction, ICT, among others, assuring that the government and private TVET training centres were in good shape.
‘’Once again, we want to appreciate the Federal Government for considering our State as one of the seven States chosen for the pilot phase of project T-MAX. It is indeed an attestation of our commitment and proof that our efforts at boosting technical and vocational education were being appreciated”, the Special Adviser said.
Prof. Odemuyiwa revealed that over 1,000 artisans and technicians had just concluded skill and entrepreneurial development training across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, in the quest to make people self-sustaining.
He urged the youths to take advantage of the programme and register through www.tmax.ng, saying registration would close on Friday, September 16, 2022.
