Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has been decorated as the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassador by the State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), for her support against the roles in the fight against Drug trafficking and Abuse in Nigeria.

The State Commander, NDLEA, Mrs. Archie-Abia Ibinabo, who decorated the Deputy Governor during a courtesy visit to her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the decision was informed by her amazing personality, sterling qualities, as well as being an astute administrator.

Commander Ibinabo stated that the initiative of NDLEA was targeted at improving the health and security of everyone living in Nigeria, appealing to the Deputy Governor to use her highly esteemed office to be at the forefront of the State to campaign against the evils of drug abuse and trafficking.

Responding, Engr. Salako-Oyedele, appreciated the officers and men of the NDLEA for the honour bestowed on her, promising to work together with the Agency to continue waging war against drug abuse.

Salako Oyedele urged NDLEA to step up measures in checkmating drug use in the society and discouraging stigmatisation of drug addicts, emphasising the need to educate parents to look out for changes in their wards that might indicate an incidence of drug abuse.
