Councilors in Ogun State have debunked the news flying around that they rejected the motorcycles given to them by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The public relations officer of the Ogun State Councillors who is also the leader of the legislative house in Odeda local government, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi debunked the news in a statement signed by him and made available to newsmen.
“Our attention has been called to a caption on Social Media, Facebook specifically where a Facebook page named "Ogun State Timeline" posted the above caption.
“While we thought it wasn't necessary to respond but for clarity of purpose and the negative effect this post might generate if not responded to made us deem it necessary to debunk this that we have never at any point as a group rejected the good gesture of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR promised to all the 236 ward councillors at our last meeting with him.
“The purpose of this writer is not known to us but is not far-fetched in trying to discredit this government at all costs through various political propaganda which is expected in a political season like this.
Following due diligence on the wall, it is observed that it is used to post information against this government which confirms that it is a timeline conspired to castigate the government of the day.
“On this note, we the Ogun state Councillors Forum hereby debunk such flighty news as it never emanated from us.
While reiterating that our focus is on ensuring and assuring that our people at different ward levels enjoy the dividend of democracy. We can not be distracted by all these fifth columnists who are hell-bent on destroying the good legacy of this government.
