Ogun State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Jamiu Odetoogun, has assured that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration would leave no stone unturned to further open up more rural roads in a bid to discourage rural-urban drift.
Hon. Odetoogun made this remark at a meeting with the management staff of State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Projects (OG-RAAMP), noting that the present government had provided social amenities such as Solar power supply, construction of culverts, grading of rural roads and many more, to enhance the living standard of the rural dwellers.
The Commissioner, who expressed confidence in the expertise of OG-RAAMP, stated that its partnership with the government would go a long way in ensuring the delivery of standard rural roads and other projects across the State.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adewale Adetayo, lauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his support to RAAMP, enjoining the staff of the agency to be efficient in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier in his address, the State Project Coordinator, Engr. Muritala Adekunle, informed that RAAMP had proposed to rehabilitate over 1000 rural roads spanning about 4000km across the State, seeking the support of stakeholders to assist the agency in achieving its set goals.
