Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has embarked on an enlightenment campaign in a bid to capture eligible children for enrollment into the public primary schools, for the year 2022/2023 academic session.
Commissioner in the Ministry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, while speaking during the campaign at some parks and markets in Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu, said all children in the State were entitled to qualitative and free education, hence the need for the Ministry to adopt the strategy in mobilising parents and guardians to make their wards available for registration free of charge.
Prof. Arigbabu noted that public primary schools across the State were well equipped with adequate facilities, trained teaching and non-teaching staff, a conducive environment, as well as maximum security, saying the government’s huge investment in education had earned Governor Dapo Abiodun and the State numerous honours.
The Commissioner said, ’’we want to encourage parents to enroll their children in public primary schools. This campaign is in realisation of the free education policy of the Governor, to further reduce the rate of out-of-school children in our State".
Speaking earlier, the Director of Education, Primary Education Department, Mrs. Adesola Onayiga called on the market women to register their children for the incoming session, saying government schools were known for the best educational standards.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Isake-Oko Park Management, Sagamu, Comrade Shamusudeen Agbaje, appreciated the present administration for his strides in the education sector, and the massive investment in schools.
