Beyond formal education, parents have been advised to inculcate the virtue of self-actualisation and skill development in their wards for an assured future.
Secretary to Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi gave the charge at the installation and investiture of Grand Patrons and Award of Excellence by the Ijebu North District Council of Boys' and Girls' Brigade at the Cathedral Church of St. Mathew, Ojowo, Ijebu-Igbo.
Talabi, who was decorated as the Grand Patron of the Guild said, "we have to continue to do all that is necessary to ensure a secured future for the young ones. My message to the mothers and fathers is to strive to train their children in the way of God and engender self-development in the children”.
He noted that government was genuinely committed to youth development that would galvanise nation-building, adding that they were critical stakeholders in the "Building Our Future Together" agenda of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
The State’s scribe expressed willingness to support the Guild towards empowering and equipping them for purposeful and fulfilling lives, calling on parents and other public-spirited people to invest in the future generation.
Mr. Talabi later commissioned a Solar Power station for the Church.
