Chairman Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon Babatunde Emilola-Gazal has given scholarships to medalists at the just concluded National Association of Primary Schools Games and Sports Competition (NAPSGAST), Ijebu Ode Branch.

Gazal reveal this during a Courtesy visit of eight medalists from different primary schools who represented Ijebu Ode Local Government at the Competition, in his Office recently.

The medalists won laurels in 100, 200, 300 and 400 meters track events competition which was held at the Otunba Dipo Dina International stadium, Ijebu Ode.

Speaking, the Council Boss Express delight at the students for making Ijebu Ode Local Government proud saying the Local Government will give Scholarships, which will cover the costs of Uniforms and School fees to the students, six of whom have just gained admission into Secondary School, for the first year of study in school while same will apply to remaining two, who are starting primary Six in the Next academic Session while a cash gift of ten thousand Naira for each of the Students and One Hundred thousand Naira for the Coaching crew.

Gazal then Applauded the athletes for their perseverance during the preparations for the game while urging them to continue to be a good ambassadors of not only Ijebu Ode Local Government but also to their family.

He then advice them to be more dedicated to their studies saying Education is the bedrock of all Success.

In his response Mr O.D Rosanwo, the Ijebu Ode NAPSGAST Branch Chairman, thanked the Council Boss for his unflinching support while promising to give more dedication to training of students athletes in Local Government.

Also speaking on behalf of the medalists, Miss Nwakpa Kosarachi appreciated the Chairman and assured him they will work harder in their studies.
