GLOBAL REFORM SYSTEMS ESSENTIAL IN PUBLIC SERVICE -PS BPSR

Global reform systems have been identified as key incentives that should be explored to meet up with the new trends of technological advancement in the world for the Public Service to flourish.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Reforms ( BPSR), Mr. Jola Oyeneye, made this known while speaking on a topic “The Growth Mindset” during the statutory meeting of Information Officers at Press Centre, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, noted that Public Service was gradually changing and embracing digitisation for efficient service delivery.

Oyeneye said a person's way or habit of thinking and habitual attitude always refers to a mindset, saying the change had become a phenomenon that Public Servants should imbibe in their scheme of operations.

"Indeed a growth mindset should tell growth stories, be open to feedback, see failures as an opportunity to learn, acknowledge efforts and reward outcomes, as well as open up a channel for communication", Oyeneye said.

Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Waheed Adesina, emphasised the need for the Public Servants to change their attitude for a positive result, and ensure that government activities were projected in good faith.

Mr. Adesina advised Information Officers to be positive minded, be good Public Relations Officers in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to make them relevant in their duty posts.

Responding on behalf of other Information Officers, Mr. Taoheed Lawal and Miss Joy Ogbodo commended the effort of PSTO towards aligning agencies of government with best global practices that would transform the Civil Service for greater efficiency.
