The Environmental Sanitation Exercise for August 2022 will hold on Saturday 27, between 7 am-10 am, with no restriction of movement across the 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State.

 A release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Engr. Rasaq Ojetola enjoined residents to avail themselves of the opportunity to clear their surroundings, and drainage channels, as well as dispose of waste accordingly at designated points for easy collection by the government-accredited Private Sector Participants (PSP).

 The release indicated that officials of the State Waste Management Agency would be on duty during the exercise, while necessary equipment would be available to complement the effort of PSP in various communities for proper collection of waste.

It stated that anyone found dumping waste inappropriately, would be prosecuted in accordance with the State Environmental laws, and called for residents’ continuous support in maintaining cleanliness and a safe environment.

The release also urged all Local Government officials and advocacy groups on environmental sanitation, to take charge in their localities for a successful exercise.
