OGSG WANTS ENTREPRENEURS TO BE INNOVATIVE

Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi has challenged upcoming entrepreneurs, especially youths to improve on their business innovative capacity and have determination towards achieving success in the formulation and implementation of business ideas.

Talabi threw the challenge in Abeokuta, during  a seminar organised by Fate Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, for 40 aspiring entrepreneurs, saying it was essential to subject themselves to mentorship and value-driven programmes that would equip them to sustain a viable business entity.

The State’s scribe noted  that youths possess potentials that could enable them compete favorably with their counterparts globally and turn around the fortune of the nation's economy, stating that "If you are concerned about growing your business, you should develop a genuine idea for yourself with a disciplined mind”.

In his opening remarks, the Dean and Director of the Foundation, Mr. Adebambo Adebowale said the organisation in collaboration with another partner launched the fifth edition of the “Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme: Digital (AEP Digital)”, with the objectives of identifying high potential startup Nigerian entrepreneurs between the ages of 25 and 45 years with business ideas.

Adebowale added that it would also  position them for growth and improving success rate outcomes of businesses across critical selected sectors of the economy, saying “the Programmes leverages on FATE Foundation’s AEP’s unrivaled enterprise development curriculum, which covers the basics of starting and growing a successful business in Nigeria and Meta’s digital strategy and literacy programming support for small and growing businesses".

He said the Foundation had carefully assisted participants to develop their new businesses into competitive business models that would effectively take advantage of digital marketing platforms and tools such as social media platforms, stating that efforts were in top gear to enable digital pivot for target segments through the adoption of digital solutions, technology and tools to improve learning and enable enterprise growth during and post COVID-19.
