Ogun State Government has empowered female youths with digital tablets through its free Abocoders training, to aid and encourage them in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.
Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun made this known during the 5th convocation ceremony of 43 Abocoders, at Oguntech Hub, Kobape Abeokuta, aimed at exposing women to income generation hidden in modern technology.
Abiodun said the training which includes, data science, and web development, among others, was organised by the Ogun Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organisations, Aspillos Foundation.
The Special Adviser reiterated the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to developing the State into the ICT hub of Nigeria, noting that expertise in ICT would reduce unemployment among the womenfolk and the general public.
Presenting the Digital Tablets to the graduands, Abiodun admonished them to reciprocate the government's investment in them by utilising the knowledge gained profitably.
Speaking on behalf of other graduands, Miss Damilola Obisesan appreciated the State government, saying the training had widened their horizon in ICT.
