Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane has confessed he is looking forward to eliminating his former club, Liverpool in the Champions League.
Mane only left Anfield for the Bundesliga champions this summer, but will put sentiments aside if both teams meet in Europe this season.
The Senegal superstar was part of the Reds team that cruised past Bayern in the Round of 16 back in 2019, netting a brace to eliminate the German team in their own backyard.
Liverpool went on to win the entire competition after beating Tottenham in the final.
Mane had previously described his goal against Bayern as one of his favourite goals, but has now backtracked on that claim slightly when speaking in the official Bundesliga newsletter.
The 30-year-old said: “I said maybe my favourite but now I would say second favourite goal, not my first, because he’s my teammate.
“No, I’m joking… Of course, I think it was a good goal, kind of a good goal. We had a good game. This is behind us.
“If we’re going to meet again, of course as Bayern Munich we’d beat Liverpool.”
