The Artisans Association of Ogun State Nigeria (AAN), has decorated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun as its grand patron and the ‘Tayese’ of Ogun State.
Speaking during the decoration at the Governor's office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Chairman, AAN, Mr. Ayodele Anthony said the Association acknowledged the contributions of the State government towards the welfare of its members and the successful celebration of the maiden edition of Artisans Day.
"We are here to appreciate the Governor for supporting our Association, and to tell the world about the wonderful things he has done for artisans in the State’’.
In his response, Governor Abiodun described artisans as one of the engine rooms of the society and the largest employer of labour, adding that his administration would continue to collaborate with the Association in its quest to reduce unemployment.
The Governor added that ‘’they are one of those responsible for the increase of our Internally Generated Revenue. The present administration believes that as long as we encourage artisans, we will begin to see a reduction in employment and insecurity. I want to assure the Association of the government's continued support and collaboration’’.
The Governor later presented the Association with a new bus.
