PSTO CHARGES CIVIL SERVANTS ON EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF GOVERNMENT POLICIES

 


Determined to further achieve the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration's mantra for socio-economic development, Ogun State Public Service Transformation Office (PSTO), has intensified efforts to enhance and empower the Civil Servants on approach, manners, and proper way of implementing the policies and programmes of the government, with a positive mindset that would be of great value in the discharge of their duties.


The Permanent Secretary, PSTO, Mr. Jola Oyeneye made this known in Abeokuta, during an enlightenment/ capacity development programme, with the theme “The Growth Mindset".


Oyeneye said the present government had established the Office to advance activities of the government to enable its workforce adapt to change, through the current trend in technology that would help Civil servants to be more efficient. He added that its success is being felt across Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs).


Also speaking, his counterpart in the Ministry of Rural Development, Mr. Adetayo Olutimehin, urged civil servants to make the best out of the training, saying career molding is key to the development of any organisation.


Olutimehin advised the participants to also engage in personal development that would enhance the growth of their mindset and output in the delivery of government activities and policies.


In her presentation, the Director, Administration and Supplies, PSTO, Mrs. Oyinlola Oyenuga said the training targeted at government worker's ability to embrace the changes that would determine how government activities should be carried out with the right mindset, to make them be fulfilled in their chosen profession.


"To succeed as a government worker, one needs to develop a great mindset, become a curious learner, have a can-do spirit, be inspired by others and understand your strength and weaknesses, as well as open up a good channel of communication with members of staff and cross-fertilise ideas among the various MDAs”, Oyenuga stated.


Some of the participants, Miss Oluwatobi Asenuga and Engr. Waheed Adesanya, appreciated the management of the Ministry for the opportunity to be part of the training, saying the experience gained would enhance their performances in their various duty posts.
