The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye has charged some selected youths of the local government to be good ambassadors of the council area, as they finalise plans to embark on a training visit to the United Kingdom.
The Chairman gave the charge in his office at Ikenne on Monday, when the youths paid him a Thank You Visit to appreciate the council's kind gesture on their selection for sponsorship to the overseas training.
Hon. Ogunleye enjoined them to always be good ambassadors of Ikenne Local Government and Ogun State, during and after their visit in the United Kingdom. He also urged them to be law-abiding and not engage in anything that can tarnish the good reputation of the local government, Ogun State, and Nigeria.
The council boss who had late last month spoke with the trainer, Rafal Jamal of Stained Glassic Studio, Birmingham, during the visit of the training facilitator, Mr. Ayokunle Ogunderu, to the former, to confirm his preparedness towards hosting the trainees for the two weeks training; further enlightened the trainees on the importance of Stained Glass production, and encouraged them to take the programme seriously, as it is a rare privilege that must not be abused.
He said on their return, arrangements are in place to assist them in setting up their business of Stained Glass production, through start-up funds that would be accessed from federal and state government agencies.
The Chairman further expressed his confidence in the skill acquisition programme, saying that it will generate additional income to the beneficiaries, and also put the local government on the world map, as the first to organize such international training sponsorship for her youths, as according to him, other nineteen local governments in the state are already envious of Ikenne Local Government on this landmark initiative, and also willing to embrace same.
He commended the training facilitator, Mr Ayokunle Ogunderu, for the laudable initiative, and appealed to Mr. Jamal to give his best during the training programme, as such could earn him recommendations to other local governments in the state who may also require his service.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ogunkoya Bolanle,
thanked the Chairman for the privilege and rare opportunity given to them, and promised to be of good behaviour, before, during and after the training.
She also gave an assurance that they will all abide by all the rules and regulations of the host country during the training.
The facilitator, Ayokunle Ogunderu, CEO, Authentic Interior Decor, who called -in during the visit, appreciated the local government for the support given so far and urged the executive Chairman not to relent until the program is prosecuted to a logical conclusion.
Present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Abolanle Fakoya; and the Secretary to Local Government, Mr. Rotimi Osinowo.
