Dr. Adewale Adenaike,  the Candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District under the umbrella of the SDP has said that the performance of Tobi Amusan, an indigene of Ijebu Ode at the World Atheletics Championship in Oregon, USA shows that there is hope for Nigeria irrespective of the myriad of challenges the country is passing through. 

In a congratulatory message to the new world record holder, Dr. Adenaike said he received with great joy the golden and record breaking performance of Tobi Amusan in the women's 100m hurdles. 

According to Dr. Adenaike, "I am particularly delighted that you did not only win the gold medal in such a highly competitive championship, you shattered the world record and also emerged as the first female to do so in Nigeria, particularly from Ijebu-Ode. Your performance reaffirms my conviction that Sport is a veritable tool that can be used to unleach the developmental potentials not just of the people of the Ogun East Senatorial District, who I will be representing come 2023, but also of the Nigerian nation where we have talents that can win gold in any field of human endeavour"

Dr. Adenaike said that Tobi Amusan's resilience, hardwork, commitment, loyalty to a worthy course and an unshakable conviction in the power of God are attributes that he holds very dearly and will continue to use them as drivers for his senatorial bid. 

Dr. Adenaike therefore enjoined the people of Ogun East Senatorial District to continue to hold on to the ideals that brought Tobi Amusan, adding that with such  commitment, victory at the polls in 2023 is certain.
