The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said the Nigerian Institute of Management is strategic to the improvement and continuous development of Nigeria as a whole.

Governor Abiodun gave this summation, while receiving members of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) chartered, led by its President and Chairman of the council, Major Gen. Abdullah Muraina (Rtd), who was in the State for the Southwest Zonal conference, appreciated them for chosen Ogun as the host State.

Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Abiodun noted that the concern of an average Nigerian is the management of resources; physical, financial, and human capital resources, saying the role of the Institute in achieving the plight could not be over-emphasised.

The Governor stated that the State Head of Service, who is a Consultant Orthopedic surgeon, and some other principal officers of the Civil Service were members of the body, noting that the coming together of members from different professions has brought about strength in diversity.

He encouraged Civil and Public Servants to join them and key into the opportunity the Institute provides for personnel improvement and all-around development.

In his remarks, the State Head of Service, who is also a member of the Institute,  Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, appreciated the body for holding this year's summit in  Abeokuta, assuring them of a better stay in the State.

Earlier in his address, the President and Chairman of Council, NIM chartered,  Major Gen.  Muraina, said the Institute is the foremost and largest multi-disciplinary professional management in Nigeria, adding that it had contributed to nation-building through consultancy, reengineering, human capital development, and public policy advocacy.

While requesting that the State government recognises the Institute membership certificate for employment and promotion in the Service,  he commended the government on the visible transformation being witnessed since its inception.
