In recognition of his relentless efforts and concern for humanity, Igbo Community in Ogun State has given an award of merit to the Corp Commander/Chief Executive, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi.
Speaking during a presentation of the award, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Ethnic Matters, Chief Monday Chukwuji who led a delegation of the Igbo Community in the State to pay a courtesy visit to the TRACE Commander, stated that they resolved to bestow him the honour owing to his outstanding qualities.
“You have shown to us that you are a humane leader who is detribalised and fair in the discharge of your duties”, Chukwuji said.
The Special Adviser appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for ensuring that Igbo citizens in the State were not short-out in his welfare and employment policy, noting that they would continue to support the present dispensation.
Responding, Commander Ogunyemi lauded the Igbo community for the award, saying it would further propel him to do more for the State.
Ogunyemi said since the Igbo people resides in the State, their welfare and social well-being remain the priority of the government.
He admonished them to ensure that their members continue to be law-abiding by obeying all traffic rules and regulations, adding that the safety of lives and property in the Ogun corridor is a collective responsibility.
