OGUN PSTO ENHANCES WORKERS’ CAPACITY TO GLOBAL STANDARD

 


 The Ogun State Public Service Transformation Office (PSTO) has intensified  efforts towards ensuring that officers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government are exposed to global current trends that would enhance service delivery to achieve the desired growth in the Public Service.


Permanent Secretary, PSTO, Mr. Jola Oyeneye gave the assurance in Abeokuta, at a day training on Advocacy and Sensitisation on Growth Mindset for the staff of the Ministry of Environment.


Mr. Oyeneye emphasised the need for the workforce to be compliant with technological innovations and other developmental initiatives evolving the world, for the Public Service to remain relevant in the scheme of things, not leaving out workers who would implement policies and programmes of the government. 


He pointed out that the training would open the minds of Civil Servants to recent ways of delivering effective service to the members of the public, saying “change is the only permanent thing in life and we must at all times be ready to learn new things that will make it happen”.


He encouraged the workers to acquire the necessary skills needed to fit into the current system, imploring them to take advantage of the training and apply it to their professional practices.


Also speaking, his counterpart in the Ministry of Environment, Engr. Rasak Ojetola said the training would help the agency to properly carry out its activities and programmes by aligning with the international best practices, as it would impact the society, commending the initiative of the PSTO team for the wakeup call.


  Earlier in her remark, the Director of Administration and Supplies, PSTO, Mrs. Oyinlola Oyenuga said it is important for the Public Servants to have a positive mindset towards transforming the Service, and should be prepared to acquire the needed dexterity for greater productivity.


Some of the participants, Miss Kehinde Otunba and Mr. Segun Damiloju appreciated the team for the training and promised that the knowledge gained would be utilsed for the growth and development of the Civil Service.
