OGSG URGES RESIDENTS TO VERIFY LAND STATUS

As part of efforts at ensuring sustainable urban development across Ogun State, the government has advised individuals and prospective investors to approach the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development before acquiring any land for business, residential or industrial development.

Commissioner in the Ministry, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, dropped the advice while playing host to the management of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Odunlami said the present administration is determined to implement the State master plan in line with the best global practice, adding that following due process in physical planning would improve the aesthetic and economic value of the State.

He lauded the company’s effort for diligently obtaining all necessary permits and certifications on its project, acknowledging it as the first private company whose layout was approved by the Ministry at the inception of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo appreciated the Commissioner for the strict adherence and enforcement of the rules of physical planning and controlled urban development, saying the policy has made it easy for several private industries in the real estate industry to find the State a worthy host for their investments.

Adeyemo called on the government to create an alternative road network along Kobape/Abeokuta expressway axis, noting that the road would serve as a veritable means of decongesting the corridor, and aid urban-rural migration which would bring about rapid economic growth and development.
