A Non-Governmental Organisation, Youth Development Crusaders (YDI) International has urged Nigerian youths to imbibe the tenet of hard work instead of the get-rich quick syndrome which has become the order of the day.
Speaking at the 29th Commemorative Press Conference of the organisation in Abeokuta with the theme, "O God of creation," the Founder/Visioner, Dr. Kayode Kusimo, said that Nigeria is going through a dangerous time in history which requires the urgent need for re-orientation of leaders and youths.
Kusimo who champions Project "The Eagle Will Fly Again" ( TEMFA) , said that religious intolerance and political instability ravaging the country are unfortunate, emphasising that if Nigeria does not get it right, the whole of Africa is in trouble.
He said that providence has placed it on Nigeria the responsibility of liberating Africa considering its strategic position and influence.
The Visioner challenged the youths to get massively involved in the affairs of Nigeria by getting their permanent voters cards to elect leaders who will take Nigeria out of the woods, affirming that 2023 is a defining moment which must be taken seriously by all and sundry.
According to him, all hope is not lost in Nigeria. Our mission is to ignite hope especially in the youths. As such, the overnight riches being promoted in many quarters among youths should be discouraged.
"The strength lies in the youths. Let us galvanize, let us get massively involved and say no to evil. We can change the narrative with God's intervention and human efforts.
"We have the capacity and everything to go higher as a nation. We all have to embrace a new way of life by saying no to ritual killing, get-rich quick syndrome, political instability, religious intolerance.
"The eagle is in our national symbol, hence, the Eagle Must Fly Again ( TEMFA) focuses on doing things right. Many people are high in religiousity but low in spirituality," he said.
Kusimo who declared seven days of prayer and fasting for the nation, noted that Project TEMFA despite having two years to go will witness fulfilment of prophesies for Nigeria in terms of equitable distribution of wealth, stable power supply, strong economy, among others.
