ABIODUN URGES HAJJ PILGRIMS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS OF ISLAM

 


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has urged intending pilgrims from the State who were embarking on the 2022 holy pilgrimage to Makkah and Medina, to be good ambassadors of Islam and the country at large.


Governor Abiodun gave the admonition during a farewell for the pilgrims at the Oba's Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying it is imperative to guide their conduct and respect the laws of Saudi Arabia.


 Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot-Salako- Oyedele, the Governor said his government has put in place necessary welfare packages for the pilgrims at the holy land, advising that they should pray for the State and wish them a successful exercise.


Earlier in his address, the Executive Secretary, State Muslim Pilgrims' Welfare Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda appreciated the Governor for his quick response to the needs of the Board in achieving a seamless operation, imploring the pilgrims to perform the hajj rites as expected.


Speaking on behalf of other intending pilgrims, Mr. Adeshina Owonikoko lauded the State government and the Board for the arrangement and welfare, promising that they would represent the State well.
