The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development said the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration is making effort to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), through a master plan for the development of Ijebu-Ode/Epe/Mojoda, and its environs, to avoid haphazard development in the area.
Odunlami made this known during a presentation of the Draft Master Plan Report for Ijebu-Ode/Epe/Mojoda, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying the move would bring about a robust economic cluster and developmental projection for the State.
He said befitting road networks and the attractive infrastructural facilities would be beckoning investors to establish their businesses, saying the government is working hands in hand to achieve better investment and a friendly-environment through the master plan of the area.
"Indeed, it is imperative to come up with a very good master plan of the area and many others, in order to create more wealth and development for the State and improve on our IGR", Odunlami said.
Contributing, Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo said locations like Ijebu, Remo, Atan-Agbara/Ota, Abeokuta, Magboro, and Imeko-Afon were listed to be the State government's economic cluster, noting that it was positioned to attract local and international investors.
Okubadejo pointed out that the master plan of the areas was to provide job opportunities for the teeming youths and guarantee food security, as well as security of lives and property, saying “all these locations will significantly boost productive output, achieve regional planning, stimulate economic growth and development that will lead to individual prosperity".
In his remarks, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adetunji Kanimodo said the master plan would add more value to the infrastructural amenities in the area, saying it would attract more investors, stakeholders, and others to partner with the State government on investment.
In his presentation, one of the Consultants, Tpl. Moses Ogunleye said the master plan would bring about a well-planned environment with facilities such as wastewater management, adequate electricity supply, good road networks and many more, saying it is a 12-year projection, which would be implemented in phases.
Ogunleye appreciated the State government for consulting professional guidance for the establishment of the economic cluster, saying the initiative would engender economic growth.
