An aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Afeez Balogun has said that his passion for public service and the need for qualitative service delivery to people were behind his ambition.
He vowed that he would provide qualitative, discerning, visible, and result-oriented representation if elected.
Balogun made this known on Wednesday during his declaration at his ward, Igbore, Abeokuta.
The reps hopeful has also paid a visit to prominent leaders in the party, ward Exco, groups and party loyalists in Abeokuta South.
Also as part of his itinerary move , he paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government Hon. Omolaja Majekodunmi while later joined the ward 13 excos at the Igbore town hall for former declaration of his intention.
The philanthropist said "my passion for public service and the need for qualitative service delivery to my people were behind my ambition, if elected i will provide qualitative, discerning, visible, and result-oriented representation.
“As a man who is passionate about public service, I am inspired by the courage and achievements of all the leaders who have charted the path of development for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency.
“I have decided to challenge myself on what to do for my constituency, the state, and the country at large".
"This is not my first time in the race thus, corollary passion for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency over two decades, I have proved beyond reasonable doubt that I am someone to be trusted with public office. I have shown accountability and transparency in service at local and state levels.”
"Now, I believe it is time for me to yield to the clarion call of my constituents to represent Abeokuta South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives come 2023.
Hon. Balogun added that he will use the instruments of law to transform his constituency through project facilitation also leverage on the experience of the best hands in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency to provide the desired representation to his constituents.
However, the reps aspirant met with wards secretaries led by Comrade Saheed Idowu as they all pledged robust support for his aspiration.
In attendance, Hon.Omolaja majekodunmi, Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government , Hon. Ayo Shomide former Abeokuta South caretaker Chairman, Hon.Mko, the secretary to the local government, Hon.Ayorinde, Hon.Toyosi Enilolobo, Afuye, Sanjay and Hon. Abidemi Lawal Mayegun.
