Members of the Spouses Of State Government Functionaries Association (SOSGFA) have been called upon to continue to stand solidly behind their husbands, cooperate with them and offer adequate assistance in making their statutory duties easy to discharge.

The Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro made the call at a reception in honour of some retiring members of the association held at the Valley View auditorium, Isale- Igbein, Abeokuta.

According to him, the home must be made conducive, peaceful and habitable for the government functionaries to be able to move the Civil Service to the next level while at work, and the association be made strong, with great support for the office of the First Lady to make the State keep progressing.

"I congratulate the retired Permanent Secretaries with their wives and welcome into your midst wives of newly appointed ones. I believe their coming in will make the association vibrant and lively. Make sure the environment of the home is conducive enough for all your husbands to deliver optimally at their duty posts", the HoS charged.

Earlier in a welcome address, the host of the day, who doubles as the Coordinator of the group and wife of the HoS, Alhaja Nuratu Aigoro said the purpose was to thank God for gathering them for the first time after the COVID-19 outbreak and to appreciate retired Permanent Secretaries' wives who had contributed immensely to the growth of the association.

Alhaja Aigoro noted that they had been successful in all their undertakings, which others are emulating and prayed for more successes in their future endeavours.

Responding on behalf of others, the wife of retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Kikelomo Ayinde appreciated the host for the honour done them and urged the members to continue to show love to one another and carry out all their activities in love and unity.

Highlight of the reception was the cutting of a surprise cake by the HoS to celebrate his wife, Nuratu on her birthday and the presentation of gifts to the retired wives, including Mrs. Bosede Onajobi, Mrs. Victoria Idowu, Mrs. Morenikeji Bajela, Mrs. Olubowale Awere, Mrs. Toyin Odeyemi and Mrs. Abosede Sotubo.
