Primary election: Balogun meets Apex Leaders In Abeokuta South LG, Seeks Support






As the primary election of the ruling party, APC about to commence in a week time, the front line aspirant for house of representatives, Abeokuta South federal constituency, Hon Balogun Olaniyi Afeez has consulted the Apex leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC at the local government level to seek for their support, prayers and advice towards his aspiration in 2023.


The party, in a letter, addressed to Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dated April 6, notified the election body of its dates and schedule of its primaries for the nomination of candidates for the 2023 elections.


A copy of the letter, which was signed by Iyiola Omisore, APC national secretary indicating the party has fixed the primary elections for states’ houses of assembly for May 11, the house of representatives will take place on May 16 while senatorial districts will hold on May 18.



The apex leaders present at the consultation meeting held today 9th of May 2023 includes, Hon Bukola Olopade, former Commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun state,  Rt. Hon Titi Oseni-Gomez, former speaker of house of assembly in Ogun state, Chief Femi Majekodunmi, Chairman SUBEB, Hon Tajudeen Egunjobi,  Senior Special Adviser to Governor Abiodun on housing, Hon Nurudeen Olaleye, Chairman Alternative Medicine Board, Hon Ayodeji Michael Shomide, former transition chairman Abeokuta South local government, High Chief Omolaja Majekodunmi, the executive chairman of Abeokuta South local government among other notable leaders in the local government. 


Balogun, after his address received commendation from Hon Bukola Olopade over his philantrophic gesture and selfless service to the society, 


he said "Abeokuta Leaders are equitable, I have no doubt that Balogun Afeez will perform wonderfully in the house of representatives with his past records in his alumnus, Abeokuta Grammar School where he donated a computer laboratory fully equipped with laptops and other necessary gadgets for the pupils to learn fast the usage of computers in this 21st century. 


Similarly, Hon Tajudeen Egunjobi, Special Adviser to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun who also doubled as the vice chairman of Abeokuta Grammar School alumni association described Balogun's as a very intelligent man with heart of gold. 


Equally, Hon Nurudeen Olaleye, Chairman Alternate Medicine Board expressed satisfaction on Balogun's aspiration saying he is capable and competent for the job without any iota of doubt, Chief Femi Majekodunki commeded Balogun Olaniyi Afeez for his response to party affairs at all times, he prayed that may good lord grant his heart desire to represents the people of Abeokuta South at the green chambers, Abuja.


Conclusively, Rt Hon Titi Oseni-Gomez complemented the efforts of Balogun Olaniyi Afeez in ensuring the party stands without minding to spend his personal money and time, he advised him not to change from who he is when given the mandate.
