The Ogun State Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro has commended the Pensioners in the State for their cooperation, comportment, and understanding during the data capturing exercise organised by the State government across the eight Treasury Cash Offices (TSOs) in the State.
Dr. Nafiu Aigoro made this known in Abeokuta when he visited the Data Screening Exercise Center at Pensioners’ House, noting that the screening team had captured Pensioners in Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Ijebu-Igbo, Ibiade, Ayetoro, Ilaro, and Abeokuta, urging those that are yet to partake in the exercise to do the needful.
He said the exercise, which would capture 14,890 pensioners across the State, was to enable the government to update their records and data, in order to cater for their well-being.
"The Government had deployed more professionals to do the capturing, this is to enhance the efficiency of the exercise, as it would afford more pensioners to be captured, thereby saving them time and stress", the Head of Service said.
On his part, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ogun State Council, Comrade Waheed Oloyede lauded the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Bureau for the prompt payment of their monthly Pensions and stress-free screening exercise, calling on the government to consider an upward review of their allowances as it was done in other States of the federation.
Also speaking, Secretary of the Council, Comrade Bola Lawal, said the exercise could be described as the best so far, while other members, Mr. Najeem Mulero and Mrs. Olubunmi Sogeke gave kudos to the State government for a successful exercise.
