Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), has commenced medical screening for intending pilgrims to ascertain their health status before embarking on the journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda made this known in Abeokuta while addressing the intending pilgrims, noting that the medical screening was part of an effort toward ensuring a hitch-free hajj exercise.
Alhaji Salau stated that the screening exercise is for those who have paid the projected N2.5 million hajj fare, while those who are yet to pay the balance would be communicated in due course.
He enjoined intending pilgrims to cooperate with the officials of the Board to achieve the desired result, and shun any act that might prevent them from performing the holy pilgrimage.
In their separate remarks, two of the intending pilgrims, Alhaja Ganiyat Adeyemi and Alhaji Owonikoko Adesina appreciated the board for the seamless medical exercise, as it would allow them to know their health status, promising to be good ambassadors of the State both at home and the holy land.
