In pursuance of its desire to enhance the knowledge of the officers of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), on Digital Literacy, the Ogun State Bureau of Information technology (BIT), in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organisation, Tech4Dev has organised a 3-day training for Operatives of the Corps.

The workshop held at the Ogun State Bureau of Information Technology, kobape, Abeokuta, had 100 TRACE officers in attendance.

The Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer, TRACE, Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi represented by the Training and Public Education Area Commander, Commander Olabode Abdul said Technology has defined a lot of things in the society, adding that as officers in charge of traffic management, it became imperative for them to key into basic Digital skills to further enhance their horizon.

"We will continue to expose our Operatives to the digital skills so that they will not be left behind in the world of information technology, which absolutely is the trend all over the globe", Ogunyemi noted.

He opined that since TRACE is a major stakeholder in the security of lives and property, especially on the road, the Ogun Tech Hub would always oblige the Corps the opportunity to improve further on other detailed areas of technology whenever the need arises.

In her remark, Director, Standard Regulation, Planning Research and Statistics, TechHUB, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte said the importance of ICT cannot be overemphasised in this era of digitisation, saying the training would be continuous.

She urged the participants to see the training as an opportunity for them to enhance their ability to key into Information Technology at all times to widen their horizon on ICT inventions as they unfold.

One of the participants, Commander Toyin Fatoberu said the training was an eye-opener, as it would make them to be Computer literate and more acquitted with happenings in their environment and beyond.
