Farmers and people of Alagbon village in Imeko Afon Local Government of Yewaland in Ogun State have cried out to both the Federal and State Government to please come to their aids as herdsmen has continue to threating them with death threat for some times now.
Speaking with newsmen, one of the leaders of the village who pleaded anonymity said that Fulanis who have been living in the village for many years has vowed to bring killer herdsmen to eradicate non-Fulanis in the village and other neighboring ones.
He said that all efforts by Onimeko of Imeko Afon, Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite to appease the Fulanis and other interventions were to no availed as the Fulanis refused to attend all meeting organized by the royal father.
According to him, "we, the farmers and people of Alagbon in Imeko Afon local government have deserted our homes as Fulanis in our midst have vowed to eliminate all of us that are non-Fulanis. This is as a result of clash that occurred between them and the farmers at Ita-Oriejo village almost 30km away from our village that led to death of three farmers and one Fulani in January early this year. And ever since that time, the Fulanis via the help of herdsmen have been threatening to kill every farmers and non-Fulanis in this area including our own village.
"They have also been using police from Abuja to threatening us. As am talking to you, police from Abuja are on ground to arrest members of our village to Abuja which as made everyone of us to vacate the village. Many members of the community who have no place to run to are currently hiding in the forest.
"We want the State Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun and Federal Government to please come to our aids. We are peace loving people and we will love to go back to our village to continue our farming business.
