A leading aspirant for the post of Ogun State House of Assembly, Ado-Odo/Igbesa State Constituency , Hon. Bojinu Shadrach Sewedo  has saluted the executive governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun for bringing smile to the faces of Ogun pensioners through payment of 500 Millions gratuity to them today 25th of April 2023.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun released the sum N500m for the payment of gratuity for the remaining Pensioners from the backlog of the first quarter of the year 2022 for both State and Local Government Pensioners.

The governor of the state in fulfillment of his promise to cater for the senior citizens who served the State diligently said it is important to see to their welfare and wellbeing.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pensions, Mr. Olukunle Sodeinde made this known in his office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, stating that the present administration would continue to honour and respect the senior citizens.

The leading aspirant appreciated the Governor for keeping to his promise that N500m would be released every quarter of the year, urging the pensioners that are yet to get theirs to be patient with this present administration.

He described the governor as a man of his words, saying that "it is promise made and promise kept".

Sewedo called on the people of the state to continue to support the current administration of prince Dapo Abiodun so that the governor can continue to do more.

Speaking, some of the pensioners praised the Governor for paying their pensions and support towards them, appealing to him to increase their gratuity as the economy improves.
