The Ogun State Government has said that commitment of workers to service delivery will enable it to achieve effective implementation of the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economy Stimulus (OG-CARES) in the State.
Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat made this known in Abeokuta, during a 2-day training for staffers of the State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) with the theme, “Optimal Service Delivery to Enhance Performance for Result in OG-CARES”.
Hamzat stated that OG-CARES is a World bank-assisted poverty alleviation project designed to restore the livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable in the society, noting that the training is essential for the frontline workers to direct them on how best to carry out their various schedules of duties for efficient service delivery.
“The OG-CARES is targeted at restoring the livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable to eliminate the negative effects of COVID-19 on food security and recovery of Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE)”, the Commissioner explained.
On his part, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Development Partners Coordination, Mr. Bayo Adenekan said the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration is determined to ensure that its citizenry enjoys dividends of democracy through the OG-CARES intervention that would run for two years.
Adenekan stated that the government had put machinery in place to achieve the objectives of the project, charging the participants to be productive.
Speaking, the General Manager CSDA, Engr., Salaam Sakirudeen appreciated the State government for implementing the project, adding that training and retraining of the staffers would help the government achieve more results. He charged the officers to be diligent and resourceful to deliver appropriately.
Responding on behalf of other participants, the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Mr. AbdulRahman Adelaja commended the State government's efforts, assuring that they would perform accordingly.
The training has in attendance the CSDA Board Chairman, Pastor Oladipo Odeyemi, Directors in the Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives and the Project Managers of other OG-CARES components in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.
