Political office appointment has been described as a call to dedication and service to humanity as against self-enrichment popularly believed.

The Chairman, Yewa South Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. Lateef Salami said this in Ilaro during an inaugural meeting with the new executive council members and management staff of the council.

Hon. Salami pointed out that his administration was poised at providing necessary infrastructure and dividends of democracy within the Local Government, imploring the executive council to work in unity towards the progress of the council area.

"I want you to see your appointment as a call to serve and dedication to humanity. The current administration in the Local Government has been doing a lot and working tirelessly at providing infrastructures and dividends of democracy to the people. Please, join hands with me towards making life meaningful for our people".

On his part, the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusesi enjoined the new appointees to intensify efforts to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the council, as funds are needed to actualise the plans of the administration in various sectors such as education, health, youths and women empowerment, roads rehabilitation and environmental services, among others.

In his remark, the Supervisor for Information and Sports in the council, Hon. Samuel Olabisi Patrick, appreciated the Chairman and management staff on behalf of the executive council members, declaring that a good and harmonious working relationship would exist between the executive members, management and staff of the council.
