A former caretaker chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun state, Prince Tunde Tella on Thursday declared his intention to contest for the seat of House of Assembly in the local government.
Recall that Tella has once declared his intention during a caucus meeting organized by the leaders of Oke Ogun community area of the state.
The house of assembly aspirant made the declaration at a ward meeting held in Isaga/Ilewo ward 15 of Oke Ogun community section of Abeokuta North Local Government.
He maintained that since 1999, the Oke-Ogun community has not been given the opportunity of any elective position, either at the House of Assembly level or Executive Chairman of the Council.
The former caretaker chairman further added that Gbagura Community had spent 16years in the House of Assembly ,plus 3years as executive chairman apart from the caretaker chairman that has come their way.
According to him, Oke-Ona has spent 4years and by the time the current chairman finishes his term, they would have spent 6years as Executive Chairman.
As regards the Owu community he said the current member of the House is from there, despite the fact that they have spent 6years as Executive Chairman of the Council.
He therefore appealed to other communities to allow Oke Ogun this time around because they have been shortchanged.
''I am more than capable to take up the post and used my performance as the caretaker chairman as a yardstick.
''Other contestants do not have enough experience to represent a local government like Abeokuta North''.
He therefore sought the support of everyone on his aspiration.
His declaration was thus greeted with loud applause and prayers by members of the ward that it shall come to fulfilment.
